(More customer reviews)I thought this toaster-oven was too good to be true. Look at all the features! Well you can't use the top for steaming or cooking without the interior oven being on, which seems very counter-productive. Wanted a rotisserie, but this took forever to cook. The timer shuts off the oven with 10 minutes left to go!
Tried Ellios pizza slices... came out not crisp, not even hot after twice the time listed for baking in toaster-oven. You have to turn one dial to do this... Another dial to enable the first dial.
Perhaps someone else can find this a miracle toaster-oven but that won't be me. I am sorely disappointed. If it sounds too good to be true, it most probably is.

(More customer reviews)This was just about the cheapest toaster oven I came across in my search, but so far it's worked really well. This one, the TOV320, is a replacement for the older TOV200 model. I bought it mainly for cooking frozen pizzas and the like, because my regular kitchen oven isn't working. Of course a toaster oven of this size can only cook half of a 10- or 11-inch frozen pizza, but it does it really well. I've been making mine right on the wire rack, without using a pan or cookie sheet (as is sometimes recommended in the pizza instructions - though the metal broiler pan that comes with the oven can be used if you like softer crust). The pizzas cook up perfectly every time - lightly browned on the top, and a little crispy on the bottom. This oven, despite its price, seems to have a really effective thermostat that cycles the heating elements on and off during cooking, so it heats very evenly. It toasts well too. It's also very compact - even smaller than I guessed when I ordered it, but still roomy enough inside for my purposes. Some people may require a bit more interior space, both vertical and horizontal, but it fits well into my tiny kitchen, so I can't complain. Yes, the metal exterior gets very warm during cooking, but what can one expect with a tiny appliance that heats to 450 degrees? Nonetheless, it seems to operate very simply, straightforwardly, and safely. (Yes, I've heard about the dangers with other cheap toaster ovens, but this doesn't seem to be one of them. Knock on wood!) All in all, a very good buy thusfar.

(More customer reviews)I just ordered my 2nd zojirushi fish roaster today. The first one I had quit working after about 11 months of constant use - I used it to roast Pike Mackerel, Steaks, vegetables, salmon, etc. For the amount that I used it, Im not too angered or surprised that it broke, but I wish it would last a little longer.
The roaster is awesome at cooking steaks and fish - and it gets done VERY quickly. Somewhere around 10-15 minutes from a raw fish, all the way to it being nicely cooked, same with steaks.
When I first bought the unit, there was very little smoke, just a faint smell of fish or steak, and I was very pleased. I probably used this everyday, or every other day for 11 months, and towards the end of the 11 months, it started getting really smokey in the house ( I dont know if the filter was failing, or if it was just all the oil on the heating elements), and I had to start taking the roaster outside - I live in a small apartment so its not a big deal, as I have a patio that is very close to the kitchen. And at the end of the 11 months, when I was cooking a steak, I realized that the top heating element just quit working... for 120 bucks, and the amount I used it, Im not happy that I have to buy another one, but I cant say I didnt get my money's worth.
Here are some annoyances that I found using this thing:
1) The bottome reflector tray needs to be covered by tinfoil or something because the oil that drips on the reflector tray is near impossible to get off, and you will ruin a sponge trying to clean it
2) The water you need to put in the bottom of the unit after a while will discolor the bottom. I left water in there overnight once ( I forgot to clean it) and I had some rust at the bottom - not too big of a deal, but it makes the unit unsightly on the inside.
3) the Unit gets SUPER hot, so dont place anything on top of it or touch it during the cooking process - Its common sense I know, but one of my buddies burned himself by touching it. Hes not the fastest fish in the pack, so maybe that was to be expected, but its something you should be aware of.
4) The grill inside is not very adjustable, and it gets a lot of burnt charcoal stuck to it. Had to buy a special sponge ethat gets the charcoal off. not a big deal, but still a very slight annoyance. i can deal with it. Here are the good things:
1) You can plop a steak in there, or some tomatoes, fish, whatever, and it becomes nicely grilled. does what its meant to do, quite quickly.
2) makes me not have to use the stove or the oven - BIG PLUS.
3) relatively small footprint for what it does.

(More customer reviews)First of all it's not perfect. The non-stick coating is thin on the pan, and can get scratched off easy. Plus, there's no easy way to clean off the brown, spots you get from baking. All that aside, this is a great device if you like homemade, and frozen varieties of pizza.
I used to try all kinds of tricks to get a frozen pizza to taste good. I'd microwave them partially first, I'd bake them directly on the oven rack; I'd try greasing the pan, or not greasing it. I had some success with these techniques, but it was a lot of work. This oven does the job, and gets the pizza cooked the way you want it. An easy flip switch on the top, can turn the heat on both sides, just the top, or just the bottom. You control the crispness, and the degree of browning on your pizza.
This oven is also great for baking those commercial, "take and bake" pizzas, from shops like Pappa Murphy's. Further, its better for reheating leftover pizzeria pizza than your microwave. What more can you want? I wanted just one thing, a 14" model. While most frozen pizza is 12" or smaller, you cannot heat one any larger. One final caution, rising crust pizzas will sometimes bubble, or rise into the top-heating element. It's a good idea to stay in the general area while the pizza is cooking, or it can potentially start a fire.

It's a little slower than a standard toaster, but that's always the case for toaster ovens, and it seems on par in its own arena. It's a good bit roomier than the Black&Decker ovens I had previously used, and it seems sturdier as well. Additionally, it doesn't cut off when the door is open, which I see as a feature, but some might dislike for safety reasons. Timer and power are consistent. The crumb tray is removable, and it comes with a single shelf, a pan, and a grille for the pan.

(More customer reviews)I like the looks of this oven. I had a Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven that I tossed after two years. Unlike the Cuisinart the T-Fal is easy to clean, it doesn't have an area by the glass-hinged door that is impossible to clean. The crumb tray is accessed from the front of the oven, not the back. Also the T-Fal shuts off when the time on the timer is done. The warming tray is great for warming hot dog buns while broiling hot dogs in the oven. The controls are straight forward and easy to use without having to read the manual. I'm looking forward to many years of good cooking with this oven. If I experience any problems I'll update this review.

(More customer reviews)I had one of these for 7 years and it was great. Eventually the lower elements stopped working. I was surprised to learn that Hamilton Beach doesn't offer replacement parts or repair locations. Local appliance repair people make expensive household calls only and couldn't find a tinkerer. So after researching other ovens, I decided to get another Hamilton beach anyway because of it's great dimensions, length of timer, simplicity of controls, power, price etc. I get the new one and the door is on crooked. Also, the front edge screws were in crooked and not in all the way. The oven is designed to have some space between the front glass and the frame but I'm talking about a crooked door with 1/2 inch difference from left to right that I could look down through to the inside of the oven without opening the door. My old one, which I still had to compare to, had nothing of the sort. And the last thing I wanted was chipping an expensive enameled cast iron pot on a cheap screw. I called up Hamilton Beach and told them about it and they ran me around for two weeks. They claimed that the oven worked fine despite this according to their engineers so basically they weren't going to take the oven back. If the outside was made this way then who knows if the next one was going to be the same and how well it was made inside. Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy. I got the Wolfgang Puck 42L instead and found a more spacious spot. The Wolfgang reaches 350 degrees on convection and 450 degrees on regular bake,has good height for pots, has simple controls, more space to handle a large chicken on a rotisserie, and a 2 hour or continuous timer. It has more elements on the top for broiling. If I need anything higher temp, which is rare, I'll use my gas oven as a back up. Goodbye to my good old Hamilton Beach; now E-cycled. Good riddens to the new one. Hello to the Wolfgang Puck 42L and not looking back.

Proctor Silex 22608Y Cool-Wall Toaster Review

(More customer reviews)I've tried several toasters that were substantially more expensive and have determined that this basic, no frills Proctor Silex does a much better job of toasting bread. In fact I've done lots of research and have learned that all of the button functions on more expensive toasters are actually not necessary. For example: Cancel Button - not necessary, you simply lift up the lever to stop the toasting. Defrost Button - not necessary, all it does is lengthen the toasting time, so all you need to do is turn up the shade selector which does the exact same thing. Reheat Button - not necessary, just turn down the shade selector to the light setting and it will warm previously toasted bread without over-browning it. Bagel Button - there are 2 types of bagel functions out there, one toasts just one side of the bagel (which I don't like), and the other type toasts both sides and extends the toasting time (my preference). So for a bagel just turn up the shade selector which will extend the toasting time.

Having said all of this, I highly recommend the Proctor Silex 22608. It toasts bread evenly, and when using 2 slices, both sides of the bread are fairly uniform. It's versatile too as the slots adjust well for thin bread, thicker bread, english muffins, small bagels, and even larger bagels fit easily. Another nice feature is that it uses just 1 moving guide in each slot to keep the bread vertical. As a result the bread is not pinched together tightly between 2 metal guides so there are less grooves and white lines on the sides of the bread when it's done. It almost looks like it was done in a toaster oven. And the chrome cabinet with black side trim looks great on the kitchen counter.
I read where Consumer Reports rated this toaster #3 and I can see why. So save your money and get back to basics with the Proctor Silex 22608 !

(More customer reviews)I am an avid home chef and a fervent hater of nonstick cookware. I went through so many sets of nonstick in my early married years, everything from the $30 "whole kitchen in a box" set I got as wedding gift to a "top of the line" set that my mother-in-law gave me years later. I babied the stuff, but it still wound up scratched and peeling and in the trash. And, I never liked the cooking performance of any of it. So, many years ago I threw it all out and bought an 18/10 stainless set- which I love and praise to anyone who will listen, and have never had to replace a single piece of. BUT, even I will admit that it's tough to get a decent fried egg from a stainless pan, so I kept an 8" nonstick skillet around just for that purpose. It was needing to be replaced so I decided to go with hard anodized. Hesitantly, I was going to get another brand with the teflon type finish. Then I saw this, and liked the idea of the the ceramic type finish. I can't tell you how much I love this pan. It fries beautifully. Sears salmon and steaks. Cleans with a wipe and a rinse. I have had this for a couple of months, used it MANY times, and am getting ready to buy the 12" for bigger jobs. Even my 8 year old can make beautiful(no tears)fried eggs with it. Oh, and did you know that you can thaw meats faster in it. Hard anodized is an amazing conducter of heat, so it pulls the cold out of the food. Just set it on the counter (covered) and wait about 20 minute (depends on thickness of the meat) turn it over once and voila you have thawed meat.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this toaster oven because I owned the previous model and loved it. This new one was such a disappointment! The old model had a push on and off buttons. This model had a dial. This was the huge downfall on this model! The dial constantly sticks and burns everything unless your watch over it the entire time and manually force the dial to the off position. If you check other sights for reviews of this toaster oven(like I should have done in the first place) before buying this toaster oven you will find that there are MANY people that have the same problems and more. Bottom line DON'T BUY THIS TOASTEROVEN! Big waste of money and time! I will tell you though I just recently purchased an Oster 6058 6-Slice Digital Convection Toaster Oven and so far I love it. I've had it for about a month and a half and no problems so far and I've also seen really good reviews for the Oster Toaster Oven from others on other sights.

Cuisinart GG-12 GreenGourmet Eco-Friendly Nonstick Hard Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set Review

(More customer reviews)We have now been using this set for 6 months. When we first received and began using them, the pans were perfectly nonstick so that food including eggs could be cooked without any oil, and cleaning was fast and easy. Unfortunately this is no longer true -- the pan we've used most often now requires oil in order than food doesn't stick, despite hand-washing and following the manufacturer's other directions. If no oil is used, the pan is like a traditional pan and not only does food stick, but the pan requires prolonged soaking and scrubbing to get it clean. You must also be careful not to stack the pans (chipping and scratching).
The pan handles do not get hot, but the lid handles do, so be prepared to use a potholder to move the lids.
The set must be hand-washed and handled carefully to avoid chipping, but this is not a problem for us.
I would have rated the set 5 stars had it retained its nonstick performance. The loss of the nonstick capacity and the subsequent difficulty with cleaning the pans drops my rating to two stars.
1/3/10 Edited to add: We've now been using this set for a year and I've noticed several minute to small chips out of the cooking surfaces of more that half the pieces. We do not use metal utensils (silicon only) and are careful with cleaning and storing. One piece has also absorbed the smell of the food that was cooked in it. I am now looking for a different set of cookware, and regret buying this one. While I prefer a "green," eco-friendly product, I think this one needs some improvements in quality and design.

Kitchen Gourmet Toaster Oven Broiler Review

(More customer reviews)I just bought this thing and it is horrible. It barely toasts bread and leaves one burnt grill mark on the bread while the rest of it isn't even toasted. The worst part about it is that it makes the bread smell like aluminum and I believe it is unsanitary.
